Poole as a whole has Europe’s largest natural harbour with over 150 kilometers of shoreline, five islands and wonderful scenery - making the Self Catering apartments an ideal base to explore all. Close by are 5 kilometers of award winning sandy beaches – Shell Bay, Studland and Sandbanks – and the world Heritage coastline of Dorset. Poole Quay, an easy walk away from the Self Catering Flat, has interests for all age groups with waterside views, al fresco dining and many attractions. Ferries leave daily from Poole to Brownsea, a beautiful 500 acre island with quiet beaches and country walks or a sail up the river Frome would take you to the historic market town of Wareham.
If it is activities you are looking for, nearby at Sandbanks beach (2mins drive from the flats) there are water sports of every kind, including parascending, water-skiing, inflatable banana and ringo rides. Lessons in windsurfing are available in the safe and shallow waters of Poole Harbour. Poole Pottery is well worth a visit where the pottery can be seen being made and you can have a go yourself – painting or throwing a pot. Tower park leisure complex has something for everyone whatever the weather – with 10 screen cinema, Quasar 2000 laser battlezone and 11 of the hottest, fastest water rides at splashdown.
